-Two consecutive weekdays off; all teachers need to work on Saturday and Sunday as these are our busiest days. Days off are set and will not change from week to week.
-Airfare reimbursement of up to $1500 (to cover the cost of initial travel to Singapore) payable upon successful completion of the two-year contract.
-Airport pickup and five days of initial hotel accommodation upon arrival in Singapore.
-No more than 8 students per class.
-The chance to teach a system that really works! Our teachers gain a great deal of professional satisfaction through seeing the literacy skills of their students develop at such a rapid rate.
-We also provide five days of full training in the I Can Read system and its methods. Due to the nature of the system very little lesson planning/preparation time is needed. This means that you are free to put all your energy and enthusiasm into your classes.
-If you meet the criteria outlined above then we are keen to hear from you. We look forward to welcoming you into the I Can Read family!
REQUIREMENTS:
-Preference will be given to those who hold Degree-level qualifications in Teaching/Education/Early Childhood Studies. However this is not essential.
-We can only consider teachers without Degree-level teaching qualifications if they have an Arts/Humanities-based Degree (English, Literature, Linguistics, and Psychology etc.) This is due to the difficulty we have experienced in getting Employment Passes for teachers with other types of Degrees.
-All applicants must be Degree-qualified native speakers of English (i.e. must have completed their primary, secondary and tertiary education in one of the above-mentioned countries as well as holding citizenship there).
-All applicants must have a clear and universally understandable accent.
-Applicants who send “generic” cover-letters that do not refer to this advertisement will not be considered for an interview.
-Please note that telephone inquiries will not be accepted. If you have any questions about the position please feel free to include them in your cover letter.
