Teach English in Japan
START DATE: 1st September, 2013
SALARY: 140,000 JPY per month (set salary)
Come to the beautiful city of Hiroshima to teach English to motivated students of all ages. English Quest is offering a semi-full time teaching position to individuals of all backgrounds, who can obtain the working holiday visa (no experience required). It must be mentioned though that it is preferable that the applicant has a good sense of work ethic, especially punctuality.
Both six month and one year contracts are open for negotiation. However, a six month contract is limited to one-way airfare coverage, while a one year contract entails the benefits of full coverage on a round-trip ticket.
Housing is provided while working for English Quest. The apartment is furnished, situated less than ten minutes away from the English Quest office, a large shopping mall, and a highly sophisticated gym. Downtown is also a mere fifteen minutes away by streetcar.
The utilities (gas, electricity, water) are required to be paid by the applicant. The Internet and mobile phone are not taken care of by English Quest.
Last but not least, the students, who really are quite a pleasant surprise, range from the ages of four to nineteen (separated into their respective groups of course). From time to time, adults may also come in for private lessons.
Work days: Monday – Friday (weekends and national holidays off; unless an event falls on those days, i.e. Christmas or Halloween party, school entrance ceremony, school performance day etc.)
Hours per week: 22 – 30 depending on the month and week
Additional: Housing, airfare (depending on the length of contract), free hip-hop dance classes for beginners (Sunday 18:00-19:00: the tuition will be paid by English Quest), National Health Insurance
Free Japanese classes are also available at the local international center.
Pay: Basic monthly salary after the deduction of the withholding tax shall be 140,000 JPY per month (set salary)
Overtime pay: 24,000 JPY per month (amount varies)
* We can switch your working holiday visa to the normal work visa (category: Specialist in Humanities / International Services) if you have a university degree. If that’s the case, please bring your original diploma with you.
The applicant must be a native English speaker and comfortable with children(99% of our students are children). Experience in either dance, drama, acting, theatre or writing, is also most welcomed.
