Director, Academic Programs – Cusco, Peru

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Manage the Office of Academic Programs for the most prestigious English institute in historic Cusco Peru!
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
This person is the frontline manager for all teachers and all academic programs. This includes the Native English Program and the Native Spanish Program as well as International Test Preparation, (i.e. IELTS, Cambridge etc.), and TOEFL Test Center Administration.
This person manages all daily operations of the Academic Office and is responsible for a team of 4 [shared] staff members, approximately 20 English teachers, and up to 10 Spanish teachers.
This person directs all curriculum development, support materials (i.e. handouts), and quiz and exam administration, and manages all day-to-day issues with teachers including teacher training once a month.
The Academic Department provides support for all other areas of Máximo Nivel in terms of books, materials, exams and quizzes, and photocopies.
Work hours are Monday – Friday from 6:45am to 7:00pm with a 2 hour break for lunch (note this schedule can vary. For example, 9:00am to 9:15pm). At least two Saturdays a month are required from 8:00am to 1:00pm or to 6:00pm. That said, as a Director of Máximo Nivel, the Academic Director is expected to work on an as needed basis and to meet the requirements and responsibilities of the position.
REQUIREMENTS:
— Advanced Spanish and fluid/native in English.
— TEFL-TESOL or CELTA certification from an onsite, minimum 100+ hour ESL course.
— Bachelors degree or higher.
— Strong academic background.
— Ready to manage a mixed international team of Peruvians and Foreigners.
— High energy, motivated, positive and passionate about academics.
— Ready to commit to a minimum 18-month engagement.
— Not afraid of long hours and hard, but also rewarding work.

Teach On the Remote Northeastern Andes – Chachapoyas, Amazonas, Peru

We are a small language school, teaching English and other European languages to local people in a tiny city on the Andean sierra, on the remote north eastern Andes, nestled between the top South American surfing coast, and the rainforest, on the mountainous route to Iquitos – the source of the river Amazon.
We are always looking for foreign teachers who want to work 4 or 6 hours a day with us, and get to know the real Andean culture, far away from the beaten tourist path. Our terms are one month long, so you can stay for 4 weeks, or you can stay for up to a year, it’s up to you!
REQUIREMENTS:
At least 18 years old, a native speaker of English, and good at communicating or a native speaker of the language and interested in finding worlds that are off the beaten tour bus path, then come and teach with us.

Looking for a change of scenery and pace of life? Come teach in the beautiful Peruvian Andes! San Francisco Language School, located in Northern Peru, is looking for adventurous, motivated and responsible volunteer English teachers to instruct children, teenagers and adults beginning in June 2013. In exchange for teaching 3-4, classes per day we provide individual housing, meals and a local cell phone. All teaching materials also provided. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the volunteer.

Join us in amazing Peru! Experience life in the land of the Incas. Extreme Learning Center, located in beautiful Arequipa, is looking for dynamic, energetic and flexible NATIVE ENGLISH speaking individuals who are TEFL/CELTA/TESOL certified with at least 10 hours of observed student teaching practice. We always seek individuals with a sense of adventure and a willingness to adapt to the needs of our Peruvian students.
Due to fast growth, we are hiring 4 teachers to start in July, 3 in August, and 2 in September. We require a minimum 6 month commitment so that students have continuity in their education. Peru is a developing country and our students do not pay enough for us to pay for airfare or housing. However, our wages are very competitive for southern Peru (about $5.00 USD per hour which is 4 times minimum wage) and we do pick up new teachers at the airport, provide free housing for 2 nights and assist in finding permanent housing (which is inexpensive). Our management team is made up of Americans with many years of experience and we provide training, observations and monthly feedback. We also work in partnership with University of Wisconsin Eau Claire, Via Lingua International and Universidad La Salle, Peru.
REQUIREMENTS:
We teach North American English, so being comfortable with American English is important. Experience and Spanish are a plus, but not required for the right candidates. Please note that we do not hire graduates of online TEFL certificate programs.

Part-Time FCE And TOEFL Online Writing Tutoring Positions in Peru

Do you enjoy reading and writing? Do you have any experience preparing students for the writing sections of the TOEFL and/or FCE exams?
As a newly established ‘social business’ in Lima, we are currently looking for native teachers only to help both Peruvian ESL students and teachers from all walks of life to prepare for the writing part of the TOEFL and/or FCE exams. Online sessions will take place asynchronously and via the Collaborize Classroom platform.
As part of your duties, you’ll encourage active participation in the weekly online discussion forums. You’ll also provide students with formative feedback whenever necessary. Finally, you’ll also be required to read one or two articles per month from any of the established ELT journals and share your thoughts about them with the rest of your team by participating regularly in online discussion forums.
We offer a competitive hourly rate of 15 – 25 USD depending on experience and qualifications.

EFT Teachers needed in Peru

Extreme Learning Center of Peru has a great opportunity for SIX EFL teachers ready to make a difference in the lives of their students, while enjoying Peru. ELC is hiring 6 teachers for April 1st.
You must be in Arequipa, Peru for orientation and training by the 27th of March. Our institute uses an eclectic approach, focusing on student-centered lessons (5 to 15 students per group), high student interaction with high STT.
Most of our learners are university students.
We work in partnership with a local university and our director serves as the director of the university language center as well. We provide our teachers with all the materials, teacher guides and monthly training.
REQUIREMENTS:
TEFL/TESOL certified with at least 10 hours of student teaching practice (if you are not certified, contact us about training options), 2 professional recommendations, native English speaker, university degree in any discipline, willingness to work in a team while focusing on the needs of students, positive “can-do” attitude, ability to commit to at least 4 months (6 months preferred).
