English Teacher needed- American Baccalaureate School in Kuwait

SALARY: Tax-free competitive salary- $30,000 to $42,000 (US Dollars) per year
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Contracts are for 2 academic years. Salary and benefits are calculated on an individual basis dependent upon experience; however, the following is a general guide:
• Tax-free competitive salary- $30,000 to $42,000 (US Dollars) per year.
• Economy air fare from point to point origin – Reimbursed.
• Paid summer leave for approximately 65 consecutive days.
• Excursion air fare allowance to and from point of origin for summer leave – Reimbursed.
• Housing Options: KD 200 per month housing allowance, or furnished housing.
• Paid utilities (except telephone) when in ABS housing.
• Transportation to and from the school for 6 weeks from first official day of work for
new overseas employees – usually starting at the end of August. Employees who
arrive late will receive two weeks of transport.
• Assistance with finding permanent personal transport will be provided.
• Baggage and shipping allowance of $200 US (with receipts).
• Group Life, Personal Accident and Workmen’s compensation insurance.
• Paid private health insurance.
• Assistance with processing work visa, residency, and driving license.
• Kuwaiti visa expense (for 2+ year contracts only) reimbursable after completing first
academic year + 3 months of second academic year.
• Opportunities for after school tutoring to earn extra wages.
• Professional development workshops.
• Up to 2 days leave for attending a recruiting fair for non-returning faculty (with prior
approval of the administration).
• 2 personal days annually (must be pre-approved).
• Tuition discount for up to two dependent children.
• End of service award in accordance with Kuwait labour law.

Director, Foundation Program – Algonquin College – Kuwait

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Reporting to the President of the College, the Director of Foundation Programs will provide academic and administrative leadership, management, support and direction to the faculty, staff, and students to contribute to the academic well-being and growth of AC Kuwait in the Foundation Program.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leads the academic development of the Foundation Program, ensuring the learning outcomes are in accordance with the provisions set out in the College policies and goals.
• Planning, delivery and ongoing assessment of the Foundation Program to ensure courses are responsive and relevant to the needs of the students and conform to both Kuwaiti and Canadian standards while adequately preparing students to enter AC-Kuwait Diploma programs.
• Participates in the development and implementation of the College’s strategic plan.
• Provides effective management and leadership to attain a high level of performance from faculty and staff of the Department.
• Participates, as a member of the Management Team, in various initiatives such as program marketing and student recruitment.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Master’s degree in Education or a related field (minimum) or equivalent education and experience.
• TESL Certification or equivalent.
• A minimum of 7 years of progressively senior experience at the faculty and senior administrative level in a Canadian college or university.
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality education, effective supervision, curriculum development, learning, and teaching strategies.
• Working knowledge of common software applications and web-based learning technologies and strategies.
• Strong knowledge of current developments and trends in post-secondary education including ESL.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with students and staff at all levels.
• Superior negotiation, conflict resolution, and collaboration building skills.
