Teach English in Tanzania
CITY: Mungere
START DATE: September 3, 2013
WORKING CONDITIONS:
We are accepting applications for an experienced English as a Second Language (ESL) Teacher to manage the English Immersion Program (EIP) at Mungere Secondary School between September 9 and December 13, 2013, engaging students to speak, read and write English.
40 young and bright children will begin Form I classes at Mungere Secondary School in January 2014. Our students live in a remote Maasai community, where English is rarely spoken, and primary school is taught in Kiswahili. Yet, Tanzanian secondary school curriculum is English-based and the language barrier can be an obstacle to learning. The 3-month English Immersion Program is designed to develop language skills that will enable understanding and active participation during future secondary school courses.
