Teach English in Malaysia

SALARY: Basic monthly salary remuneration between RM5500 to RM6300.00 per month
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Sheffield Academy is located in the heart of the beautiful and vibrant Kuala-lumpur. Our college is situated next to the famous KL twin Towers. Sheffield Academy offers courses in Hospitality, Business and English Language.
We offer IELTS preparation and English Proficiency courses to domestic and international students in Malaysia. As part of our expansion exercise in the English Language Department, we are presently recruiting full-time Native English Teachers from Britain, Australia, or New Zealand for a two year contract.
Job Description:
• 30 hours classroom teaching per week,
• Preparation of lessons
• Marking of homework and class work
• Preparation, administration and marking of placement, progress and
achievement tests
• Assessment and reporting of student performance
• Development of supplementary materials for core syllabuses or for
special courses
• Attending staff meetings and/or workshops arranged by senior staff
• Playing a full and active part in the working of the college
Salary and Benefits:
• Visa and Work permit arranged by Sheffield Academy (subject to
approval by the relevant Government department)
• Paid national holidays (approximately 13 days per year)
• 14 days paid leave annually (this is in addition to the national
holidays) preferably taken during session breaks
• Basic monthly salary remuneration (salary and housing allowance
between RM5500 to RM6300.00 per month (depending on qualifications
and experience of ESL teachers; open to negotiation)
• Health insurance
REQUIREMENTS:
Essential:
• Experience in teaching IELTS preparation classes
• Bachelors degree in any field
• CELTA, TEFL or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years Academic English Teaching experience
• Age – 25 to 55 years
Desirable:
• DELTA qualification or equivalent
• Masters degree in Applied Linguistics or TESOL
• IELTS experience
• Teaching experience in a university or college environment
• Experience in training culturally diverse students
• Ability to adapt, work and live in a multi-cultural society
