Christchurch School seeks candidates for the position of International Student Coordinator and ESL Instructor.
The person in this position will teach three classes (one other teacher, part-time, will also teach ESL classes), and should expect to contribute outside the classroom having overall responsibility for the needs of our international students, including travel, orientation, clothes, testing and all the myriad details of life in an American boarding school for an international student.
Qualified candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree and ESL certification or equivalent experience, and ideally have experience abroad.
Ability to work well with other teachers and administrators is crucial: the ideal candidate will have empathy for and understand the needs of our international students, and advocate for them in a way that also understands institutional needs.
Finally, candidates should be realistic and excited about the challenges and rewards of teaching and living in a boarding school.
