WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Director of Studies (DOS) manages the Academic department in delivering high quality English Programs in each school in Hanoi. The DOS is responsible for teacher management and maintaining high teaching standards, working closely with the Academic team.
The Hanoi DOS is part of the Hanoi management team. The position reports to the Training Centres Manager based in Hanoi. The position is supported by an Academic team of Academic Coordinators, Senior Teacher and Year Teachers. The Hanoi DOS works closely with their counterpart, the DOS in HCMC.

Compensation:
•A competitive monthly salary on a two year contract

REQUIREMENTS:
Position Responsibilities include:
Teacher Management and Teacher Support:
•Forecast teacher recruitment needs and recruit new teachers
•Oversee the induction and mentoring system for teachers
•Manage teacher professional development including classroom observations, in-service teacher training (INSETT) and appraisal
•Recruit and manage the Academic team in each school in Hanoi
•Maintain teacher professionalism
Program Development:
•Liaise with UTS:Insearch, the Ho Chi Minh City DOS and the Country Manager on curriculum development initiatives
•Design and develop new English Programs as required
•Develop and review existing English Programs
•Maintain supplementary materials for teachers
•Review and develop the Independent Learning Centres and self-study materials for students including UTS:Online
•Monitor and assess exam delivery and course results
Administrative responsibilities:
•Produce and coordinate teaching timetables and placement testing timetables on a termly basis
•Arrange cover for teacher absences as required
•Monitor and assess student feedback
•Conduct teachers’ meetings
•Maintain administrative standards of teachers
Other responsibilities include:
•Produce annual Academic budget in conjunction with the Finance Manager
•Manage monthly direct costs related to Academic programs
•Liaise with other departments to ensure the smooth running of operations
•Support Marketing Department to promote ACET as required – media events, seminars, etc.
•Follow UTS:Insearch Academic policies and procedure
•Maintain professional customer focus at all times
•Manage extra-curricular activities and student Clubs
Qualifications:
The appointee must:
•Have an undergraduate degree from a recognised university
•Have a postgraduate ELT/TESOL qualification such as Cambridge DELTA, Cambridge IDLTM or a Master’s degree in ELT/TESOL
•Have 3 years experience in an ELT management role
•Demonstrate extensive ELT experience including in EAP/ESP programs
The appointee should demonstrate capacity to:
•Balance academic and business objectives while overseeing teachers and academic staff
•Lead teachers and academic staff to provide the highest quality teaching and programs for the students
•Work closely and constructively with the Training Centre Manager, local support staff and counterparts in Ho Chi Minh City
•Ensure a team spirit among teachers, teaching assistants, academic and support staff
•Have excellent communication, time management and organization skills
•Represent the school in a way that enhances its reputation
